CONTEST DETAILS:
This contest will run from September 17 to October 7, 2024
In the spirit of National Truth & Reconciliation (Every Child Matters) Day, September 30, 2024 we are holding a Coloring Contest. This marks our 4th year and we welcome all schools to participate.
We are honored to present drawings from Angela Hall (Aguenus). Angela is a Metis Albertan, retired school teacher, mother and artist. She attained a graduate certificate in Spiritually Informed Creative Arts from St Stephen’s College and developed Trauma Informed and Indigenous Ways of Knowing Art lessons that she facilitates for K-12 students, teacher conventions, colleges and educational institutions.
Angela was awarded the Alberta Teachers Association Outstanding Aboriginal Educator Award. Her artwork can be seen throughout Alberta in places such as Peace Hills Trust Building, Bearclaw Art Gallery, Rupertsland Institute, Grant MacEwan University, University of Alberta, Edmonton Public and Catholic Schools, AIMCO Calgary Office, Parkland County and the Town of Stony Plain. We ask that you do not copy or retransmit any of these images/drawings other than for the purpose of this contest

We would invite every participant to show their individuality in selecting the colors and add their own creative spin in the pictures they submit.
Twelve prizes will be awarded in each of 4 age groups: Headstart/Preschool to 4 Yrs, 5-8 Yrs, 9-11 Yrs and 12-13 Yrs where winners can select any Toy from our Website. Twelve prizes will be awarded for 14+ category where winners can select any in stock headphone, earbud or speaker from our Website.

Print the picture of your appropriate age group by clicking on the age links below. A new window will open with the photo, right click the photo and choose "print." You may need to change your printer settings from portrait to landscape to print the full picture.
Make sure that the following information is included with the photo:
- Name of School or Organization
- Province Abbreviation
- Their First Name and First Initial of Last Name
- Their Age
Completed pictures can be scanned and emailed to contest@westernvarieties.ca or sent via Canada Post to:

Please make sure to allow enough time for postal delivery. The winners will be selected after review of all nominations from our panel of judges. The winners will be contacted directly by one of our judges and their artwork will be displayed in our store.
