Stories from the kohkoms IIcalendar is the second publication in a series that presents teachings from grandmothers and female traditional Elders residing in Edmonton, Alberta.
These stories are shared orally by the storytellers, and then written and published with the intention of passing on grandmother teachings to the coming generations. The storytellers retain all rights to the material they share.
The calendar celebrates the accomplishments of Indigenous women in a historical timeline, and through centering their perspectives in the publication itself. It is meant to lift up and inspire these women's spirits, and their relations.
Included in this calendar is a women-focused history timeline from the 17th century to today. Fifty-two photographs and illustrations are included to accompany both the timeline and story months. Altogether there are 46 pages of colour images and 9,000 words.
