It is used as a ceremonial smudge allowing us to communicate with the Spirit World, carrying our prayers to the Creator. Sweetgrass represents the hair of Mother Earth and is braided to signify unity between the physical, mental & spiritual. The sweet aromatic essence has been long sought after & was thought to soothe the emotions and calm the nerves.
